Step 1 - Create your account
Start by creating a free eCampus Manitoba account. Fill in your profile so we know who you are and how to get in touch. Make sure to add your student number and any visiting student numbers you may already have.
(To take courses listed on this website you will need to be a regular student at one of our 7 partner institutions.)
Step 2 - Find your courses
Browse the courses list. There are hundreds to choose from! Save courses you like to your account or click “Get Started" when you’re ready for step 3.
Step 3 - Get course permissions
When you've found a course you want to take you should first discuss the matter with your academic advisor to make sure this is a good choice for your program of study. Once you have clicked "Get Started" you will see a confirmation screen. When you’re ready, confirm by clicking “Request permission”. Now we take care of almost everything you need to take the course! We take care of requesting your Letter of Permission and then show you how to get your Visiting Student Number (you’ll have to get this through the host institution website). There are usually fees for both of these things, but don’t worry, we take care of that too.
Step 4 - Registration
Once everything is in place, you’ll be ready to register for the course. Your home institution will have granted your Letter of Permission and you will have received a copy of this in the mail. You will have received a package from the host institution that includes your Visiting Student Number and details on how to register. This is usually sent in the mail, but varies by institution.
If you have both of these things, now you can register for the course through the institution website! We can help guide you through this, our team can answer any questions. Just ask!
Step 5 - Complete the course
Now for the fun part. If you need help throughout the course, contact an academic advisor from the host institution, or from your home institution.
Step 6 - Get your transcripts
Once you’ve completed your course it’s important to get your transcript sent to your home institution. This way they’ll know you’ve completed the course successfully and can add the credits to your home transcripts.
To do this, simply order your transcripts from the host institution (see links on our resource page) and ask them to send the transcripts to your home institution.
